Milford Track can only be accessed by
boat via Lake Te Anau, advance booking
required. The Department of
Conservation (DOC) booking office to make
hut reservations, is located on the

option to do just a 1 day walk, returning
by boat the same day. ..Guided Walk
- The track is closed
May through September.
- Not recommended for
children under 10 years of age.
- 4 day hike, you are
required to pick up tickets
before departing on the track.
Tickets can be collected from the
Park Visitor Centre (DOC) Office
in Te Anau.

Late snow falls and/or Spring
thaw can make parts of the track
impassable or cause avalanche
If a helicopter trip over the
hazard area is necessary, the
cost will be passed onto walkers.

minutes drive north of Te Anau via the

at Te Anau Downs. The Guided Day Walk
